Anyone a member of one of these? How well does it work out? Do you
constant bleed off members to 25man guilds?

I am the raid leader of such a guild. We are doing really well.

Back in vanilla WoW we were a 20 man raiding guild hitting ZG and
AQ20, just starting on MC (with another guild) when TBC came out.

Then we were doing Kara and ZA alot, we stuggled to get 25 ppl for the
larger raids, but managed to clear Gruul, Magtheridon and started on
SSC when WotLK came out

Now we are focusing on 10 man raids, we are doing really well. We had
Naxx 10 on farm long before Ulduar came out, and have done all 10
content. We are now focusing on Ulduar 10 and have cleared upto and
including Hodir, working on Freya and Thorim now.

10 man raiding seems to suit us better than the larger raids did, we
have steadily been growing in size, and manage to satisfy most raiders
requirements by forming an alliance with another like minded 10 man
guild, and we do 25 man runs with them once or twice a week.

Generally it goes:
Wednesday 25 man raiding
Thursday 10 man raiding
Sunday 25 man raiding
Monday 10 man raiding.

That gives us all a chance to experience 10 and 25 man content.

Works well for us.

We just lost a member, but he was rarely raiding with us anyway. He was
raiding with another guild and felt he had to leave us now, since he has
accepted the assignment as mage classleader.

We're actually a casual raiding guild, and most members don't have the
time needed by the larger raiding guilds. In fact most members have left
the larger guilds, because in our 10 man raids it's ok tell you need a
break due to BA (baby aggro).

We do have a couple of members who run 25 man with their main, but enjoy
running 10 man with us using alts or trying out alternative specs.

I remember the frustration, though. Back in vanilla I was made co-gm in
a leveling guild, where we were constantly on the brink on having enough
people for the 40 man raids, but kept bleeding members to the establised
rading guilds. We were stuck with doing ZG20 and AQ20, and kept loosing
some of the best geared members, so we had very little progress in those
instances.

I love my guild...came from 25 raiding semi-hardcore pre ulduar. My
work buddies and long time ingame friends were farming 10 naxx. They
offered me a weekly spot for ulduar 10 run and we do 2 nights/week 3
hours per night. Have cleared up to mirimon(sp?) and dabbled in hard
mode stuff. I'd rather run with 9 other folks I enjoy spending time
with and collect gear thats not quite as good. It only takes 1 or 2 a-
holes in a raid group to make things hostile and un-enjoyable. Also,
all of the raiding guilds doing 25 man content on my server are
requiring 3-4 committed days to raid every week and even then the loot
distribution may be lopsided towards longer term members (loot
council). I just can't be on that much any more.
