In 2nd Edition, is a lich's spellcasting ability inate? I mean, if a
lich is struck by a weapon while it is preparing to cast a spell, does
the spell fizzle?

Kurt.

A Lich in 2nd edition studies spells from a spellbook just as it used
to as a living Wizard (or prays for them just as it used to do if it
was previously a living Cleric). The spell can likewise be disrupted
in the middle of casting the same as when the caster was alive.
