Here's an amusing item: In my current game I ran raging barbarians, and two
rival civilizations went down before their furious onslaught: the Ottoman
Turks (leaving me all alone to develop a big continent, safely shielded by
the Great Wall) and the Egyptians. When I started to travel the seas, I
discovered a smaller continent to the east of mine, with three Egyptian
cities captured by the barbarians and a couple of other cities founded by
the barbarians. (And space to found a couple of additional cities, which I
will do before Peter of Russia finds his way there; I will then gift them to
my vassal.) I was rather curious as to which nationality my planned vassal
state would have and wondered whether the Egyptians would rise from the
dead. I am playing as Asoka of India, so I thought the Khmer or the Chinese
were possibilities. Instead, I got George Washington and the Americans.
But here comes the funny part: I captured several barbarian workers, who
on capture immediately turned into turbaned Indian fast workers. A couple of
them I transported back to my home continent; I need more workers since I am
in the process of settling the last open areas on my continent before my
rivals discover Astronony and do it. However, the others I gave to
Washington. They turned blue, of course, but they are still wearing turbans
and are still fast workers! I think it's hilarious, and naturally a huge
bonus for Washington too. I wonder if his own workers, when he starts to
build them, will be fast workers too. I don't suppose binaries are welcomed
here; otherwise I would append a screenshot I took.
