50 pounds sterling? What? When did the game start to have such a 'premium'
price? Even console games do not cost that much where I am.

Checking prices online it is selling from £21(Asda)up to £29.99(Argos) in
the UK currently.

Anyway, let me just say this:
You have been mugged by Steam.
You should be steamed.
Paid over the odds and you still had to find your own time and use your
own bandwidth to download the programme that you would have to store on a
medium at your own expense.
Perhaps next time, you should use your analytical skill in predicting the
future and see what the best prices are before stumping up for a steaming
pile of doo-doo.

Yeah.. 50 euros it was at Steam (and still is).
I should complain, occupy steam and protest and all.. But for now I am too
busy fiddling with FM - as long as my family let's me.
Funny thing to realize. Played this game when I was single. And as a married
man with 4 lasses I still play it. FM did stick with me longer than the
Smiths or Hill Street Blues did.

FM Handheld has a mp3 player - but I didn't like to play a dumbed down
version on the iPad

But you don't need a MP3 player on FM2012 since most pc's have enough
resources to handle another MP3 player.

I used to buy it on the day of release every year, until SI started to
seriously piss me off with their various antics. FM 2006 was the last
one I bought. The sad thing is, I've been very impressed with FM 2011
and was seriously considering getting 2012 but there's no way I'm
buying something with mandatory Steam activation.
Recently I've actually been playing CM 01/02 again on my retrogaming
machine. Quite a surreal experience really! Currently managing
Magdeburg in German Regional Division North, in 02/03.

I quite fancy playing CM3 again, as that's when I first discovewred the
game and was instantly hooked on it. But I've lost the disk, and in any
case it won't run on Windows XP.
Will 01/02 run on XP? If so, I might give it a go. According to Wikipedia,
you can get data updates for it that bring it up to this season, which
might be interesting.
