Played it some more... so far so good.
The good:
Has the FM feeling
Has MP3 function
Not as bug ridden as most FM version are upon their release
Scouting and Training dumbed down
The Bad:
Pre-fixed formations, and the AI can use formations you can't
Dumbed down tactics
Interface is in some ways a mere click-fest: three clicks / take too many
screens to alter tactics,
Lay-out could improve
Scouting seems useless

I never fully understood why Sigames put the MP3 player into the FM
Handheld. I mean, how difficult can it be to fire up the iPod player,
start your music and then start up FM?

Convergence, isn't it? All apps on one unit. Coming next, make your coffee
on the Ipad - it acts as an induction cooker too. Kitchen sink to be
installed upon registration and surrendering of all your base.......

There's an old saying related to software development that every programme
expands until it can read email. That was coined many years ago. These
days, the equivalant would probably be that every program expands until it
can play mp3s. In both cases, it's one of those things that's relatively
simple to do, and developers think is a cool feature, so it gets added even
if hardly anyone is ever likely to use it.

True: I won't buy an iPad till I'm able to shave with it.

Did anyone tried the iPad thing yet? - I read it is out now; However, the good old Ascendancy portal to the iPad turned out to be a lovely time-sink.
