Was a savefile viewer/editor ever developed for GTA:VC? I'm pretty sure one
was available for GTA:SA and I used it to check achievements.

I've managed to miss a unique jump in Vice City and am struggling to
identify it

It looks like this one has several features not mentioned on the
download page:

http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=12167

I don't have VC on PC so I have no way to verify it can do what
you want, but it's probably worth a try.

Thanks, mate - I tried that one yesterday, and it allows you to edit a whole
bunch of stuff that, frankly, I didn't even expect to be included in a
savegame. Unfortunately, completed unique jumps aren't among them... Sad

In the end, it was quicker to go through the list of unique jumps I thought
I'd done, and try each a few times to see if I could get it to trigger.
There are 36 jumps in VC, I thought I'd done 33, the missing one was only
discovered after I retried 30 of them, several times each. Sad

I've not bothered doing the last three jumps because one of them is
impossible to get to until the mission where advertise the film on the side
of the building. The other two are possible, but not worth the effort as
they are also done during the mission.

So now I have a savegame with all the boring stuff that's unlocked at the
start and needed for 100% completion already done - just the story, side and
asset missions to be done, as well as the boring stuff that's locked at the
start (chopper checkpoints, rifle range and payphone assassinations) and
those three jumps.

Tommy hasn't even looked in on his well-stocked Ocean View hotel room yet,
but the save game includes all the hidden packages, all the non-asset save
points, the three stadium events, the RC challenges, the four driving
challenges (Cone Crazy , PCJ Playground , Trial By Dirt , Test Track), store
robberies, and the taxi, vigilante, firefighter, ambulance and pizza
missions.

That's a shame. I remember missing one of them in VC, trying to reach
100% completion. I just started doing all unique jumps a few times to
be sure and finally got the one I had missed...

I know - I couldn't let it go.

I've now got the northeast jump on the west island - the jump that lands
near the spotlight on "G Spotlight." The unique jump at the start of that
mission simply isn't possible outside of the mission. There's genuinely no
way to get a vehicle up there without cheating.

So now all I need to do is work out how to get a bike on the roof of the
Downtown hospital. I've tried using a packer as a ramp on the semicircular
access ramp next door (south), and on the ambulance ramp on the west side.
Any other ideas? I'm going to see now if it's possible to make a steeper
ramp with two packers, but I think one of them disappears as soon as you
look away...

I agree, the 1st. G spotlight jump is impossible.

The hospital jump is however possible, I did it with 1 Packer and a jumping
Cabbie.

Later I've learned about a stuntjump onto the hospital, a quick search
turned up this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guV71HoZoxQ

Yep - I just did that after all. I worked it out and came back to report my
findings, but you beat me to it. I assumed the cabbie wouldn't be fast
enough to trigger the unique jump, but it was. I used the PCJ600 for all of
the other jumps.

I'm going to try that, now. I wonder if the passenger is needed...

AFAIK: The only effect of the passenger is removing the speedboost from
leaning.
So, if anything, the passenger only makes it harder.

No joy with the stunt - but that's probably because I'm on the PC. It looks
like the sort of thing that could do with a joypad or similar - a throttle
that's either fully on or fully off, and steering that's the same, are
probably insufficient. for such a manoeuvre. That, plus being old, I have
the reactions of an arthritic sloth.

Just the film studio and print works missions to go now, then I can finish
at 100% with the last mansion mission... Smile

I'd forgotten how much fun Vice City is. Just goes to show, photo realistic
CGI is nothing without a good game on top of it. GTA4 is OK, but the eye
candy and sheer scale do not match the fun to be had in VC

No reason not to get a pad for the PC. While the GTA games are
playable with keyboard and mouse, really the fun for flying, boating
and motorbikes happens with a joypad.
