About 1 hour from now, a friend of mine will log on to my server and
help my characters get into to my new guild. It's meant as a
single-player guild, to simplify item storage/sharing/transfer.

I've figured out how she can invite my characters, but I'm unsure about
the step before that in the process, making her character guildmaster,
so she can invite my other characters.

With only my banking alt being a member now, there's not much to
experiment on, and I don't want to waste more of my friend's time than
absolute necessary.

Turns out I can. We did everything amazingly fast, and now I have a
single-player guild on both servers, the one where I play Alliance and
the one where I play Horde. Nice!

You didn't have to make him guild leader. You could have promoted him to
officier, and he would have been able to invite your other characters.

In your guild tab, you can see the guild ranks, and give them differents
rights, like speak in guild or officer channels, take some amount in guild
bank... Make all of your alt officers, so they can use the bank as they
want (I guess you will have a guild bank, since your guild is to simplify
item storage).

Yes.
Slightly different purpose, banking only.
A while ago I discounted it, my auction flow through alts to manage
sell attempt status and eventual vendor/disenchant was working well
but then I was away off and on for a few months and few days to
take down and bring up the chain was a pain.
So I set up a lootmule with their own guildbank, 4 tabs (96 slots per tab?)
plus their normal bank, can store a lot of nonbound whatnots for the other alts
and ride through auction fluctuations.
Now I have a second lootmule, it has 3 tabs , and soon to have a 4th
Sorry, I was wrong, they were right whoever they were Smile

Offer 10g for a guild sign, it takes no time at all to set up and only a few
of hundred gold for a couple of hundred slots is cheap space. Cheap enough
to waste some keeping things in nice pretty order Smile
