Help with registration error message

Hello,

I have 2 players getting checkturn error messages about the winplan
registration codes:

Player 1:

xmodem or ymodem may be the cause

Unable to fix. . .
ERROR : Data transmission error (or HACKER WARNING!)
using Xmodem and Ymodem can cause this error
because they change the size of the .TRN file
and fill the file with garbage
(error was in PLAYER2.TRN )

Reg key error
Player is using a cracked reg.key file
**** ERRORS FOUND!!! ****
ErrorLevel = 3

His reglog shows:

This player told me he had changed to a win7 64 bit version. He played about
300 turns without any problems.

Has anyone an idea what the reasons for the error messages could be?

The reglogs show no problem, and also Merlyns "RegChecker" shows no problem.
There was no Tim Continuum at any time.

Any tip is helpful.

This usually means the file is really damaged. The following might be
inherited errors.

You could try to run un-trn on the turn file, maybe it has something
more helpful to say. If you want, I can also take a peep.

A change in operating system often goes with a change in the mailing
program and/or browser. It's possible that one of those mangles the turn
file. Years ago, it used to be popular among Outlook Expresses to send
TRN files as text files. These days, Google Mail is known to mangle VGAP
files.

The best solution is to zip everything, because mailers tend to agree
how to handle .zip.
