" a steam-ship period tactical naval simulator focusing on fleet-scale
battles in real time. The game allows you to set up battles squadron
groups, their formations and management, with realistic ship models
and characteristics, as well as advanced ballistisc and weapon models.
You can choose your ships, increase the experience of your crews and
send your squadron into the open seas."
Their first game was seriously porked by being IGOUGO so I'm going to
check it out now that it's real time

Interesting, let us know - I'm wary of wasting more download time on these
guys.

Wellllllll, not the best naval sim ever
Bit unrealistic, to say it friendly. I just tried to ram a Confederate
frigate with my monitor, but it just gave the frigate a push! The
frigate was slightly damaged and could only make 3.7 knots, but when
my monitor pushed it, the speed went up to 8.0 knots and the damage
didn't increase!
Guns only fire at pistol range and the sea is a shining mirror.
My first few remarks on this "sim".
If you see it as a toy-boat battle, then it can be fun, but don't
expect much realism.

Ta, saved me some electrons which I can now use for something useful, like
porn, or defacing entries on Wikipedia. (Joking!)

Monitors were not noted for rammimg ability.
the Montitor bumped into the Merrimac/Virgina several times and did no
damage and fighting at pistol and closer range was know to occur, such as
the afore mentioned M-M fight, and the Hartford vs Tennessee
now the CSA having a Frigate is rather unrealistic.

I'm not getting this. Clearly these guys like the ACW and they like
monitors. So they must know a thing or two about the real thing. Why
oh why do they then make a game and spend 90% of the budget on
graphics ? Sure, it'll make some people buy the game because of the
pretty (relative) pictures, but is there any satisfaction to be gained
from releasing something which barely resembles ACW naval combat ?
Surely they cannot be proud of this ?
Ironclads : High Sea - available - Hi, Their website is currently unreachable - must be the hugh demand - but the game seems to have been released. http://www.totemgames.ru/ Greetz, Eddy Sterckx
Silent Hunter III - My Game Has Been Scuttled! - Hi everybody! The WWII sub-sim Silent Hunter III is one of my favourite games. I have played several careers and scenarios. Last week I started a new career and things were going well until shortly after I upgraded my VIIb to a VIIc. My boat returned...
3D in operational / strategic games - Hi, I just learned that the upcoming Vainglory of Nations by AGEod will use a new 3D rendering engine and that this change from 2D to 3D was largely due, not to gamer demand but to publisher demands. Now, I can understand and agree with the case for 3D...
Gifznads autoresponder has failed - Neither James Willows nor Cindy Crosby #87 are me as Gifty's autoresponder claims. More proof that there is no autoresponder bot and he just does it manually and tries to guess who is me. If you kilffile them then you are kilfiling innocent people. I....
