Pudlo actually made a game? Yikes ... I'd honestly just been assuming
his medium of choice was Usenet, that he's a kind of troll artiste :/

I haven't played _Gamlet_, but I expect it isn't half as
transgressively sexual as Will's version, if you understand what to
look for.

Instant respect, then.

That's a disquieting notion

_Gamlet_ won the Golden Banana the year it was released. Probably
because a lot of people gave it a 1 because he wrote it. I was one of
the playtesters; I felt it was a very well-done game, although the
ending was a bit rushed. I recommend it.

One can indeed stage some of the Hamlet/Gertrude scenes in a very, very
disquieting fashion.

Someone's been hitting the piggyback-ride fetishist sites again, I
see.
It's just one step from those to flip-book animations of Captain Kirk
and Mister Spock doing playing marbles for keepsies.
Oh my god even I can't tell if I'm being literal anymore.

I assumed it was a corruption Hamlet + Gimlet, a reference to the
alcohol consumed during the design process.

Gertrude? Just Gertrude? Oh my. Does that mean that you've never even
pondered why Hamlet says that he "knew" Yorick? Oh dear. Are you in for
a treat.
"He hath born me on his back a thousand times"; "Here hung those lips
that I have kissed I know not how oft"; is there any room for doubt,
there? And now consider how old Hamlet must have been when all this
"excellent fancy" took place.

IF on the go? - What's the best device for playing IF on the go? I was looking at Sony's new PSP (announced at E3), which is lighter and smaller than the old PSP, still has a wonderful screen, eliminates the UMD slot and has a slide-out keypad for playing games (its...
Textfyre Launch - Dear IF Ccommunity, Textfyre is launching it's first game, Jack Toresal and The Secret Letter on June 26th, 2009. We have a handful of things to tie up before publishing the final product, but the community has helped in so many ways that we want to..
Anchorhead SE: Dead in the Water? - What's happened to Anchorhead SE? I know that Mike abandoned it "temporarily" (so I understood) to write for Textfyre but now his SE page is gone as well. Anyone know more about this?
Sound for Lurking Horror? - I'm wondering what the state of sound for current Mac interpreters is. Are there any that can play the sounds for Lurking Horror? I have the Masterpieces CD somewhere, but I'm not sure where it is. I copied the story files onto my computer, but I don't....
