Games Industry Biz is reporting that an article in the Wall Street Journal
is cautioning investors that Activision may choose to delay Starcraft II to
2010.

"The Blizzard title, currently slated for an October 2009 release, saw the
launch of its beta version delayed recently, leading Bhatia to believe that
it "increasingly appear[s]" the final game will also be delayed, reports the
Wall Street Journal.

However, thanks to the presence of Modern Warfare 2 on the slate, analysts
don't believe that any delays to Starcraft 2 will hurt Activision too much,
and arguably it would instead offer a significant boost during a quieter Q1
2010.

Blizzard declined to comment on the story."

My prediction: Starcraft II is released in South Korea this Holiday season,
and is delayed til February 2010 in North America and Europe.

Why would they ship to S. Korea during a time when no one has time to
play? S. Korea doesn't, as a whole anyways, celebrate Christmas nor does
it celebrate Haunakah(sp) so there is tradition of buying Christmas Gifts
For Friends/Family. Instead, New Years is the big holiday. Everyone is
busy during the last half of December with preparation for New Year's and
New Year's parties. New Year's itself is spent with family. If it's
anything like Japan and China, this is also when folks exchange red
envelopes filled with cash as tokens of good luck and prosperity. If
anything, retailers look forward to January, when kids descend upon
stores, pockets bulging with crisp bills from relatives' red envelopes.

In addition, why would there be a delay for the US version when the game
is developed in English first? Why would they do a Korean version first?
It'd just be harder for the American developers to debug.

So shipping Star Craft 2 to Korea first makes zero sense. If Blizzard has
already said the release date for the US has slipped into 2010, then
everyone else will get it even later than that.

For fans of TW and Keoi games - Takeda3 has 50% off sale right now at Gamer's Gate so is only $14.99. It's not as polished as TW series but the battles are played in a similar manner and the strat part is very much like the Koei game's like Genghis Khan etc. Just a FYI. ..
