An SM+3 giant (about 21 feet tall) will get ST with a −30% Size
limitation, so each point of ST over 10 only costs 7 points. Buy up ST
as high as you deem correct for your giant, and you're getting a
discount on damage and hit points in the bargain.
Suppose we look at two characters with ST 20: an SM+0 human and an SM+3
giant. It cost the human 100 points; it cost the giant 70 points. It
might also cost the human an Unusual Background, depending on the
setting. This strength may be perfectly natural for the giant.
A thrusting greatsword will do 3d+5 cut/2d+2 imp for both of these
characters, but it was a heckuva lot cheaper for the giant. However,
this assumes the giant is using a human-sized weapon. I think you'd have
to create a new weapon to account for a scaled-up version.
Likewise, with general equipment, you don't scale it. A deck of playing
cards for a giant is a different item than a deck of playing cards for a
human.
